The Perfectly Imperfect Tag.

Well, that sounds a lot like me: to make all those plans about how I want to write more and more, and then to disappear for all summer. I’m not too proud of that, truth to be told. But I’ve already started to write a couple of posts that I intend to publish very soon (and seriously, this time I mean it!). 😀

I was recently tagged by lovely Capili Jiron who is the author of artistbybeauty blog. Please make sure to check it out, it’s very inspiring and uplifting; I love it! You can also read her answers here.

(I’d also like to say thank you for tagging me, it was such a pleasure to do it!)

Creator of the tag.

The tag was created by Aqsa, the author of Aqsa Says What blog. I’ve discovered it recently and I am glad I did 🙂 Plus, let me just say, I adore the idea of this tag; it spreads positivity and the concept of loving yourself for who you are. I find it very inspiring and I am happy to be a part of it.

Talk about what your strengths are, and what you love about yourself. These can range from anything positive about you, or your future aspirations and goals.

I think my biggest strength is, well, strength. I believe in myself. It is special to me because it took me a long time to find the correct way. I was unhappy, I was insecure. Nevertheless, I did it. Right now, I can proudly say I learned how to love myself, and I am so happy I did. As the song says “when I get older, I will be stronger.” I like the fact that I’m a strong person. I am also kind, loyal, open-minded. I am a good friend. I can do a lot for those I love. I’m not afraid to step out of my comfort zone. I am eager to learn new things. And I try to find a positive side in pretty much everything.

Who/what are you inspired by, and how do you want to make a difference?

The people who inspire me are those who are not afraid to stand up for themselves or others. Those who fight for what or who they love. People who are not scared to chase their dreams. They make a positive difference for the world. I meet so many positive people; some are my family, some are my friends, and some are complete strangers. They are my inspiration. Strong, brave, passionate, inspiring, loving. The ones who make the world a better place.

Due to my job, I get to chat with a lot of people. One day an elderly lady was buying some toiletries. She commented something, I agreed. She asked me about something, so I asked her about something else. We talked for about 10 minutes. Nothing deep or meaningful. More of a polite conversation. But after she said goodbye, she turned around, looked at me, and said “thank you for talking to me.”

Thank you for talking to me.

It almost made me cry because I realized I could be the only person she got the chance to talk to that day. I like to think that was not the case and that she has someone by her side to talk to every day, but it made such a massive impact on me. I saw clearly that this is the difference I can make. Sometimes all it takes is as little as a smile. A conversation, some support, a positive word. And that’s the difference I’m trying to do every day.

What’s your advice to those that struggle to love themselves, and to those that doubt themselves?

Keep doing your thing, and don’t worry about what others may say. I hope it makes as much sense in English as I think it does, but that’s something like my motto. And that would be my advice. Stay true to yourself, embrace yourself, your strengths and flaws because they are what makes us unique and therefore beautiful. Keep following your dreams, and don’t let the negativity bring you down!
